Hi, are the meters on a A77 supposed to move when you play a tape?

The unit works and records great! just I noticed the meter do not move when playing a tape.

I'm going out on a limb with this, BUT I'd be very surprised if they aren't suppose to move on playback. My B77's meters react on playback and so I think that's a normal design on their machines.

Download the Service Manual and trace out the circuit to be sure:

I'm pretty sure mine just lay there on my MKII. There's no mention of motion in playback either in my .pdf copy manual.

ReVox A 77 meters do not register on playback, only on recording. Your machine is behaving normally.

You can switch the input selects to "I-II" and "II-I" and display the levels in playback.
