View Full Version : Your high school graduation song
wilkes85 07-03-2009, 06:24 AM Hey, here's a thread which might be interesting.
What was everyone's graduation song?
Mine was "Look at us now"... it's the worst song i ever heard in my life, and extremely girly, but we had it narrowed down to this, and "Are You Ready" by Trooper... of course there had to be a football meeting during the grad meeting, so most of the class in the grad meeting were girls, and they decided on the girly song. Otherwise it would have been 'Are You Ready?',
There was also 23 people in my graduating class (heh, small town in Saskatchewan lol)
qdrone 07-03-2009, 08:04 AM I can't remember my high school graduation song but I do remember my Junior High Graduating Class song which was"Everyday People" by Sly and the Family Stone.
resqguy 07-03-2009, 10:28 AM We didn't have an "official" graduation song but if I could pick one it would be "Show Me The Way" from Frampton Comes Alive.

jlc76 07-03-2009, 11:50 AM Well, we got to vote on a song for prom and being in an affluent suburban school most kids had bad taste. It was 1994 and grunge was in but somehow the final song was "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart. Funny thing was the DJ played "Forever Young" by Alphaville which made my girlfriend (now my wife) and I crack up because we knew the song but most others didn't and the DJ made an announcement about having everyone come out and dance for the class song and the puzzled looks on faces were priceless. We split shortly after that so I am not sure if they ever played the Rod Stewart song.

Mark W. 07-03-2009, 02:16 PM they played a song?
Much to busy trying to plot the fastest route to the back seat of Chuck's 54 Ford Vicky in which we were double dating with a gal I already had some deep knowledge of and her Mexican Exchange Student sister.
Would have been a bit more fun but Jelene ended up translating most of the night That moron Chuck thought he was supposed to talk to her!!!!! OH well spent the rest of the summer with Jelene acting out a Bob Segar Song. Till we both went off to different colleges.
What was the Question?
vinylover 07-03-2009, 03:52 PM I can't remember. Hmmmmmm I wonder why?

Man, that's an easy question to answer. Ditto! I'm the one who brought the cassette of this song to our 10 yr reunion. Class of 1974 (crap, there goes the give away of my 'tenure on this planet'). I guess this falls under the 'Geezer' category.
Tarl Of Gor 07-03-2009, 04:52 PM Class of '76 here. I wanted to use Alice Cooper's Schools Out.
Hokieman 07-03-2009, 09:31 PM Dylan's "Blowing in the Wind" - I had absolutely nothing to do with selecting it.
dokblues 07-03-2009, 09:58 PM Bob Seger: Against the wind. Don`t tax my memory that hard!

My homeroom teacher glared at me when I blurted out that it came from a Kodak film commercial. Did she actually expect me to keep quiet about it? :D

Drybasement 07-03-2009, 10:24 PM I don't know. Stairway To Heaven rings a bell. A very popular tune back in 1980.
Sandy G 07-03-2009, 10:29 PM We didn't have an "official" song, but my fellow iconoclasts & I kinda liked "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk. The rest of the dweebs liked "Beach Baby" by 1st Class. Or "Walkin' in Rythmn" by the Blackbyrds. Spring '75 wasn't exactly the hi-point in music. Actually, there was another one my black heart liked-"Judy May" by Boomer Castleman. Kinda weird one-hit wonder.
devoid 07-03-2009, 11:38 PM I didn't graduate - thank God.
