I have about a dozen or so records from Simply Vinyl. I have read that some might be mastered from CDs, given this I am wondering if anyone has opinions about their pressings from the company.

Overall I would say I am a fan of the ones that I have. I love the packaging for starters. It's nice that the sticker keeps it's stickiness and the sleeves are very durable and keep dust out well. The high quality inner sleeve is a nice touch as well.

The vinyl is always super high quality and clean when you open it. Most of the pressings are 180g or more from what I have seen. You never get an hiss, pops or the like of inferior pressings.

I am listening to Bob Marley - Exodus right now and it's truly worth getting. Great depth in sound, crisp sound, overall great sound stage. :thmbsp:

As I listen to the others, I will post my quick thoughts to help keep this thread going if there is interest...

Others in my collection include the following, if you want an opinion, I will take requests. :)

Gap Band - The Best of...
Jamiroquai - Emergency on Planet Earth and The Return of the Space Cowboy
Marilyn Manson - Smells Like Children, Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals
Nirvana - Nevermind, In Utero, Unplugged in New York
Public Enemy - Yo! Bum Rush the Show and It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

General Rule with Simply Vinyl, UK originated content is likely to come from some kind of analogue tape. Most everything else digital sourced from the present CD mastering. Pressings excellent. UK originated material tends to be their best records.

If some mastering are from CD / Digital then it's not analog. It would be cheaper to buy the recording in CD format and save some coin. IMO if you are going to pay upwards of 30 a selection then on the recording they should tell you if it's analog or didgital,is it from a master tape or a generation tape twice removed from the master. :nono:
