just picked up a Sansui 221 from someone local to me, brought it home and hooked it up.

for 8wpc, it was fairly impressive.

had a bit of an issue though. while playing, there would be a random, slight loss of volume and sudden static/crackling across the channels. turning the volume up slightly would most times eliminate the oddity, but as the amp was on longer, that stopped getting rid of it.

i am entirely new to vintage audio, so i have NO idea what this could be :( hell, even if it was new equipment, i'd be clueless...

speakers that were connected were a set of Sansui SP-2500Xs that i picked up today as well. a friend made mention that perhaps the speakers were too hungry for this little receiver?

i currently have them hooked up to a Technics SA-202 instead, and they crackled slightly when i first started playing, but it went away quickly and have since played perfectly.

any ideas? thanks in advance for any replies, even if they're of the 'i have no clue' variety.
