I've never been too deep into cartridge arcana, so please forgive me if this is a silly question...

So, I have my old Technics SL-2000 table. It's fitted with an old, old Grado RS-1 cartridge. The stylus on the cartridge is shot. Bent, actually. Don't ask me how. I have kids.

Anyway, I'd like to just replace the stylus. Am I correct/incorrect in assuming that I can fit any of these (http://www.needledoctor.com/Online-Store/Grado?gclid=CJvh0YyX2JsCFQ_yDAodSm2q_w) to the cartridge? If so, if I read the Grado hum chart correctly, it would appear that the Black1 stylus would work best in my turntable. Yes?

Advice is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, The RS-1 is not on Grado's stylus cross reference chart, nor do I see any reference to it in replacement styli elsewhere. I would contact them and ask: www.gradolabs.com.

Howard,
Thank for the reply. I tried emailing Grado over two weeks ago and have yet to get a reply from them. I suppose I could try again.

As I said, the cartridge is fairly old. But, until the stylus itself was injured, it still played very well.

FWIW, I'm attaching a couple of pics of the cartridge, in case it might ring a bell with someone. The box it came in says "Reference Series 1."

Thanks,
Jim

So, I emailed Grado again and actually got a reply this time.
They say I can use the Prestige Blue stylus.
