View Full Version : One of the many great things about McIntosh!

I just got finished setting up and testing an MX136 in our theater room. As I was watching/listening to a demo I felt that the subwoofer was a bit too much...so instead of searching all over for the remote I walked to the front panel and adjusted the trim on the front and that was it! It's simple, no remote needed, no menus to go through...no stopping the demo! I have tried the same with other manufacturers and always had to go to the menu or use a simple bass control, which will not adjust it correct.
That brings me to one of the best things about a McIntosh is that you can operate the unit without a remote. In fact at home I am not sure where my McIntosh remote is! But my wife and kids can operate the unit without any issues or any need for the remote.

Ok, I am done now... just thought I would think "out loud" for a moment.

yep love this aspect as well. I regularly adjust the balance trim on my c2300 (speakers not the same distance from the side walls). Most other manufacturers don’t even include a balance control!

Ryan,

What sub is in the "MX136" room?

True, I am under 50, but once this feature is pointed out to someone, it would be hard to forget how to do it.

We are using a JL Audio F113 in the room. That sub is tremendous!
