Anyone know how the platter is removed from an Akai AP-B10C manual TT? I need to replace the belt and it doesn't seem to want to just lift off. Is it just a matter of pulling harder, or is there something holding it on?:scratch2:

I'd also appreciate any info or opinions on where this TT fits in the Akai lineup.

If it's like every other TT I've seen, remove the mat, put your fingers in the lift holes, and gently tap on the spindle with something. The platter should come flying off in your hand.

Plus, add a few drops of penetrating oil to the spindle to free up.
