How do I remove the platter from a 1019? I need to check idler wheel. I have a 1019 and a donor unit for motor (hopefully) but I need to check the idler wheels on both to see what is going on. I've never messed with a Dual before or an idler drive for that matter.
It's a lot more complicated than my Thoren TD160 that's for sure!!!

1) Pull off the center post
2) Remove the plastic like cap (you may need to pry it out with a knife)
3) Pop out the snap ring with a screwdriver or needlenose pliers
4) Life the platter up and off

It's kinda goofy the way Dual made that aluminum cap in the center with the three plastic prongs that go over it.
Very difficult to remove the cap without breaking one of the prongs, especially at this late date.
