View Full Version : What is your favorite camera brand? Cerwin Vega Fan 09-06-2004, 03:27 PM  ProAc_Fan 09-06-2004, 03:41 PM If money is no object than Leica would be my choice. Mike Trawlerman 09-06-2004, 07:43 PM I've used RICOH for a number of years now. First one was an all manual KR-5 with a standard 50mm lens. Then I had a pair of KR-10M Computer controlled bodies with Centon lenses. Worst camera's i've had in my life. Metering was just chronic and the viewfinder was way to dark even on blindingly sunny days. Took decent shots when set to manual but it was pain to program for that. And now i'm back to KR20 which is an all manual camera once again. I've just gotten back into film again recently after going all digital for the past few years with a Minolta Dimage 7 (5.3m/pixels). Digital is fine for photo's that are intended for the web but even with a semi-pro camera the results are a little disappointing especially if you intend to print them professionally. Digital just does not stack up well again a bon-fide 35mm. I think my favourite cameras are probably Praktika's. They are relatively cheap and fun to use. I learnt on one and actually won photographic contests on more than one occasion with shots taken with a BC1 and Konica film. And on all occasions I was up agains people with infinitely more years of experience and better camera's in more exotic locations. trevorlane 09-07-2004, 10:40 PM a Canon man through and through. although Leica rangefinders are nice and compact. Don't compare a point & shoot digital to a 35mm. Also the MP # is not the real determining factor. You don't say what size those pixels are. Just look at the majority of wedding photogs today. How could they be making a living if the photos were only web acceptable. |
