Hello,
i have bought an X-100 on ebay but now i have discovered that one of the output transformer is KO.
That's my first tube amp and i am a beat disapointed.
Do you know if it is possible to repair it?
Cheers,
Vincent
It can be repaired, how did you determine that the OPT was bad? How long ago did you buy it? Do you still have any recourse with the ebay seller?

Hi Pat,
to determine it i have used an ohmeter and test both side of the OPT.
On one i have round about 250ohm and on the other one nothing, remains at 1.
That's why i am thinking that there is in between a cut in the wiring.
And regarding the seller, i bought it in the US and i am living in Germany... and the amp was sold as is. So bad luck and that was stupid from my side to buy a stuff "as is".

The transformer can be rewound, but it's probably more cost-effective to buy a replacement OPT from a junk unit or even a generic replacement (e.g., Hammond).
Hi Vincent!
I've a nice pair of output transformer from my originally working X-100.
The power transformer was removed for use on my RH84 project.
If interested, lets get offline and deal.
