I recently acquired a complete Technics system which included a Technics linear SL- L24 turntable. I am new to all this and had never even seen a linear turntable. In fact I only just learned the word "linear" on this web site today. It looks cheap and strange. I do not even know if it works because it needs a belt and a needle or as I am learning a new "cart."

Basically, I would like to know if it will be worth it to buy a new belt and cart for this turntable. Is there anyway to know if it will work before buying the belt and cart? Can anyone tell me anything about this turntable? How good is it in terms of quality and value? Can anyone recommend a reputable place that offers good prices to buy belts and carts?
