I've got some time off from work at the moment. I'm back in at 6pm this evening for the night shift but for the moment I've pretty much got the house to myself.
Well the Vinyl bug has been biting me bad these past few days. I've been listening to and transferring some old 70s vinyl from my my Pioneer PL-L1000 to my Akai Reel deck. It's almost like being in a timewarp :)
I've also been pondering about running up my Rega Planar 3 w/RB300 Arm and Sumiko Blue Point MC. Well I finally got around to dragging my lazy ass out of the chair and got around to setting the Rega up again as it's recently takena back seat to my Pro-ject RPM9.
I just put on the Foreign Affair LP from Tina Turner. Man, the sound just blows me away! I listen to vinyl on a regular basis but I certainly wasn't prepared for the sound that poured forth from this rig. The Phono stage is an EAR 834p with some new Electro Harmonix 12AX7 tubes, amplification is 2 x Rotel RB970 Monoblocks (180w) and a pair of vintage Warfedale Dovedale IIIs.
:yippy: :guitar:  :ntwrthy:
This setup really grooves. It's moments like these that make it all worthwhile.
