have not checked all his credits, but I think he was behind "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis". And there was that Brando flick.
He was an amazing writer.
RIP
Dobie was by Schulman not Schulberg

I think that he was one of the writers of "The Many Loves of Dibie Gillis" but I don't think he was the creator of the series. On the Waterfront is an excellent story. He was a great writer indeed.
R.I.P. sir.

Kudos to Schulberg for "On the Waterfront", regardless of his involvement with the House Un-American Activities.
He also wrote "What Makes Sammy Run", which I would love to read. It was a rather acidic story of a (Jewish) business climber, and the methods he used.
Schulberg evidently lost quite a few aquaintances in Hollywood over that one.
I can't believe NBC Evening News reported on the death of John Hughes and not on Schulberg (I don't believe I missed it.)
