when I arrived home today, a gorgeous Blue Circle CS integrated amplifier. 50 SS watts done right :D
Yes, Dr. Evil has struck again!! Course it was by invitation ;)
Bought primarily to drive my second set of JMR Twin Mk III's, I'll also try it out with a few other speakers. Yes I know its SS, but there are a lot of folks out there talking about how great the BC products sound, and how they are often mistaken for tube amps - I just had to give it a try. Course BrianB just had to offer it at a price I couldn't refuse :p:
I will post a review in the "Equipment Reviews and Opinions" forum as soon as it has had time to settle in a bit and I get over this cold I caught. Right now everything sounds like my head is stuck in a bucket.
Built fresh when you order, this unit is sporting a brushed aluminum front panel, dark cherry stained oak knobs and a blue powder coat top. Inside we have a solid 50w/ch into 8 ohms, 3 line level inputs, 1 processor loop, simple and elegant circuits all hard wired (no PC boards in this baby), separate power supply and transformer for the preamp and power amp sections, DC coupled from input to output and ultra wide linear bandwidth all packed into a 15 lbs package.
I love Christmas on Mondays!!!!

Izzat the on/off switch on the right? It looks like a toothpick! Other than that, very sweet looking. So Dave, when do you start having to build rooms onto yr house to have places to set all these rigs up?
;)

It looks very nice Dave, but the $64,000.00 question is...How does it sound?

No new rooms yet. Friends all think I'm nuts and have stopped coming around, so I just got rid of all my furniture execpt for a single oversized recliner, that doubles as a bed. Sit it in the middle of the room and swing around to the system of choice - perfect! :D

Correction: That's a brushed stainless steel front panel, not brushed aluminum

Looks sweet Dave! :thmbsp:
What are the measurements of it? I like the minimalist look.

Hi Dave,
Glad to hear that the Blue Circle CS integrated arrived safe and sound!
Give this amp about a week to burn in before doing any critical listening - even more than either of the tube amps I've sold you, the solid-state CS will need some serious hours before beginning to sound its best.
And yes, I'm predicting that you'll be VERY impressed with the unit at that point. Although I'm a tube-o-phile at heart, the Blue Circle CS has been one of my favorite integrated amps for a long time. Indeed, it's tonality and overall presentation remind me a lot of the Manley Labs Stingray - a tubed integrated that puts out the same amount of power and retails for almost twice as much.
Cheers,
Brian

Yup, aluminum definitely looks cheap in comparison to stainless steel! :D

Very nice Dave,I have said it before and I'll say it again, you probably have the nicest systems on Ak.
Must be havoc trying to decide what to play! One option, get the same cd for each system, let her rip at the same time.
Enjoy and I hope your sinuses clear soon

I have thought about that Alan! Not sure how I would get them all started in sync, but I may have to burn a few disks and give it a whirl! :D
BTW: The circle in the center of the front panel glows a cool shade of light blue when powered up. Neat!

Well Dan, it needs to burn in for a few more days before any serious listening and my ears are still plugged up from this head cold anyway. But....I'm starting to hear enough to tell that this guy has the goods!
More to come!
