My dial lamps keep burning out on an add'l 950 I have.
I have checked the voltage at pin 22 and 24 and I get 8.4v AC.
This should be less than 8, between 7.0 & 7.5(+/-) correct? Double checked the fuse and is 1.5a. Also, of course I get an 8.3v AC at pin 2 on Lamp Ass'y AWX-096.
Do I have a major transformer problem?
Is there something I could do to drop the voltage to the bulbs?

See if there is a voltage selector on the back of the unit, and what numbers are showing on it.
It sounds like the unit is set for 110v and is plugged into 120v.

If it has a voltage selector and it is properly set, you can use a #192 bulb (13V, 330mA) to replace the original bulb. The #192 lamp will draw a bit less than 250mA @ 8V, and be a tad dimmer than the original 8V 250mA lamps, but at the reduced voltage they will last a very long time.
...but I bet Mark is right...

Nah, this particular one don't have a voltage selector.
It just says 60HZ 120V AC.
So I guess I will go with the 13v bulbs.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Well, maybe you've simply been getting crappy bulbs. :dunno:
The #192's should end your problems.
