Just an FYI

A D300 is in the shop.

Firewire card reader must have had a bent pin. It elongated the same pinhole on 12 cards before it finally failed. Without me knowing of course. The only warning was the pin must have finally broke. When inserting a card after the pin broke the reader would crash the program then my entire system.

While inserting a defective card into the D300 body while on the job it didn't go all the way in. I gave it a little help and the elongated hole bent a pin causing a CHA error. Nikon amazingly has the pin reader in stock.

One more thing to worry about...

Bummer, man! Are all 12 cards ruined now?

Oh yah, I'm not using them again.

Update.

D300 was dropped off around noon on Monday. It's ready less than two days later. It pays to know where the cameras are actually shipped to for repairs by the camera places in your area. Then bypass the middle man. And bring fresh baked goodies.

Now the problem is I still have damaged cards to download. Waiting for the new card reader from B&H. I will have to just load the cards into the reader as carefully as possible I guess. Maybe I should have bought two readers...
