Hi!

I have bought a B 2101 and a C 2101 second hand and have problems with the start of it.

When I switch it on it takes 5-10 minutes before I can listen to some music. After 5-10 minutes a "click" sounds from the amp. appears and after that everything is OK. If I try to do something before itīs a cracky sound in the speakers.

What to do?

Hi

My verdict what is wrong with your amps.

1) DC from the pre-amp which settle over time

2) More likely its the B-2101 which need attention regarding the DC-offset adjustment, also the caps on the 1st. amp and poweramp board should be evaluated for age.

List of capacitors needed to make a complete refubishment of the 1st. stage and power-boards can be found here : http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=18818 ;)

Hans,
Sounds like you have a couple of problems. The click you hear from the amp are the output relays. That's a good thing. Waiting 5-10 minutes to hear that sound is a bad thing. I bet if you align the amp that 5-10 minute wait will drop to a few seconds, provided nothing else is wrong. At power up the Protect LED should also be lite. It should go out at the same time you hear the relays click.
You should not hear anything from your speakers until this happens.
Explain "If I try to do something before itīs a cracky sound in the speakers."
