hello fellow AK'ers;
I came across a great looking Pioneer PL-255 direct drive turntable..no cover, but i dont need that anyways.... it plays great after i adjusted the stylus pressure and lead-in..and anti-skate.... it works great EXCEPT... it wants to play almost to the spindle before it auto returns and shuts itself off... HOW do i fix that? if i cue up the tonearm and slowwwwwly push the headshell across the record it goes almost to the turntable platter spindle BEFORE it will begin to auto return...i see no damage on this table...and i like to keep it....if i can get it to return where it is supposed to and shut off .. It says Pioneer PL-255 direct drive full automatic...
..................any help is appreciated...i have visited TheVinyl Engine for service manuals..but i have not learned what i need to know, yet.
any and all help is appreciated....it plays great..pitch control works fine..good headshell etc...
i just need to fix the record playing overrun ...

The trip linkage needs adjustment. Maybe someone familiar with this table will chime in shortly with advice.

Many Technics had an adjusting screw near the tonearm pivot and it is often covered with a silver rubber plug, you might check for such a thing.
