I have been using a T amp to power my Zilchlab Indignias. Time to jump in and in the spirit of DIY, build an amp. Started this project as a stereo
LM1875 amp kit from chipamp.com. A stereo format is too tight for the case size so I decided to build a set of monoblocs. Cases came from that auction site. Jacks, speaker posts, misc parts are from ApexJR. Project still requires an additional PS board and parts, another tranny, some wire for PS and speaker output, case feet, heat sinks, and small harware. I will post with updates. I also need to pickup a small bench mount drill press. Any one else built an amp off the LM1875 chip?

G'day all, I've built several small stereo amps based on the LM1875 chip amp and they're excellent.

The really important thing is effective heatsinking for the chip package. Insufficient heaksinking will rapidly cause shutdown of the chip and I've found those silicon impregnated insulated washers don't work properly.

An ordinary mica or equivalent insulator with plenty of silicon heatsink compound applied is the only way to go, but be warned....it can get messy! Regards, Felix aka catman.
