Hello Everyone: I picked up a nice 881 receiver today,in good condition. Got it home,hooked it up,and there is a problem,with the rt channel. I thought it was out. Than, I rotated the balance almost all the way to the rt,and it worked. The volume even,on both channels. But when I go back to center on balance,no rt channel. Does this sound like just a dirty balance control,or a larger problem? Any help,or opinions appericated,Thanks.

Clean it first, and check the fuses, use a meter.

Nosirrah good afternoon: I've been working on the clean-up on this 881,potts switches,and thank goodness,it's working. When I started,balance had to be turned to around 5 o'clock to the rt. to have even sound. After 4 times now with dexoit,and a lot of twisting and turning,I've almost got it,now it has good volume with knob at 1 0'clock. Some more deoxit,and alot more turning,and it should be at center. Finally,got lucky for a change. Thanks.Dave:thmbsp:

I'm having a similar problem on my g-9000. You have used deoxit on the balance pot 4 or 5 times? Or all pots and switches?
