View Full Version : AU-X111 MOS Vintage
masterlazy 09-27-2004, 02:20 PM Hello!
I want to find a amp for my speaker Yamaha NS-2000. I had seen a Sansui amp AU-X111MOS Vintage. Do you think it is good amp for classical and Jazz? And it is suitable with my speaker?
What do you think about this amp? Do you like it if I compare with other amp like Accuphase E306? What is better?
Sorry if I ask about accuphase
thanks a lot
BeatleFred 09-27-2004, 02:41 PM The AU-X1111 MOS is a superb amp, the question is: do you know of one thats for sale? I ask because its a model thats not often seen for sale (as is the case with my B-2301).
I dont know if you did a Search in the archived messages, but there is an AK member who lives in Belgium, and he recently bought an AU-X1111, so you might want to contact him for his opinion.
Here's one of the threads:

masterlazy 09-28-2004, 02:32 AM Thanks a lot, I had read it carefully, I know that it is rare to buy. But I don't sure that it is good for my speaker. So you think 500 USD is expensive or cheap?
Thanks a lot

BeatleFred 09-28-2004, 07:24 PM $500 would be very inexpensive for that model (considering its cost when sold new)

masterlazy 09-29-2004, 01:59 AM Are you sure? because it is only AU-X111MOS not AU-X1111MOS. It is very defference. And it was made at 1984 ( it is the time, Sansui products reduced quanlity.

1420-1503 09-29-2004, 06:54 AM Hi I'm the guy from Belgium. 1984 was indeed not the best period for Sansui BUT!!!! they DID retain TOP quality for their home market ASWELL as their international UPSCALE models.
Beatlefred has a MosV series power amp made in that period and I'm sure he can testify his unit doesn't suffer from any cost-saving practices whatsoever. In the contrary the used the best of the best parts on these.
I can't comment on your speakers and I'm not familiar with them.
I use my 1111mosV with a pair of Infinity Renaissance 90's which are full range. It drives them easily, giving me live-like sound with non-compromise lows, mids and pristine highs.
If ever you go for the accuphase, I'd be interestd in the Sansui. Would you hook me up?
Whatever you do, enjoy your purchase and please keep us informed!!

BeatleFred 10-19-2004, 07:03 PM Masterlazy:
I know of someone who has an audio business in California that has a C-2301 for sale. I dont know if he'd ship outside the U.S., or if you could afford to buy the preamp from him + long distance shipping cost, but just thought I'd mention it to you.

masterlazy 10-19-2004, 10:38 PM To Mr Tho,
Welcome you go to Hanoi, pls call to me. I regret that you not go to Hanoi sooner. We have a off-line meeting in Hai phong on Saturday. In Hanoi, I am afraid that you can see high-end market, it is audio only.
To BeatleFred
Thanks for your kindness, but I am afriad that shipping fee is too expensive. And my country is nearer japan than yours.
Best regard
