Need your recommendation for interconnects to be used with a Sony xa5400es SACD player and a Mac C15 preamp, this will be for analog stereo mode, RCA cables.

Good quality but not too expensive.

There will all kinds of recommendations, but for good quality at a reasonable price the Mogami cables seem to be a crowd favorite. They are very nice interconnects, but you also might try the DIY route. Upscale I find the Audio Magic, and Wire World cables top notch but Very Pricey.

Try and find yourself a USED pair of Purist Audio Design Musaeus, Anniversary Aqueous, or Venustas on Audiogon (Musaeus is least expensive.) Due to the Ferox shielding (the whole cable is surrounded by a jacket filled with iron paste) they have the blackest noise floor of anything on the market IMO; great for digital! And, if you decide to move up the line, they are VERY easy to resell. Remember: "They'll be used when you sell them, so they might as well be used when you buy them."

In the past when I had my Mac rig (MDA1000, MCD 1000, MC275 x2 , C46, MC501s), I used JPS cabling all the way through. Very well priced and did a great job with Mac.

Good idea, never thought about this.
Thanks to all other suggestions, for me this is a pretty confusing affair and I need to do a lot of homework before I get anything.

Caramba... you wire people. What imaginative writers you are. Highly entertaining. At least he "waffled" into the real world with his "IMO".:music:

And speaking of imagination, yours truly designed the M&K logo on your speakers back in the 70's.

You have some pleasant experiences ahead of you if you stay open . . . . . . . .

I just picked up some Kimber Kable "PBR" for the connect between my marantz VC6001 universal player and C29. And i also use the "Hero" for the connect between the C29 and the MC2105. Both very nice, and i would suggest using the WBT terminations.

Interconnects is the best theme to burn money on.
Most cables are so bad and same time extremely expensive.
For little money you can buy Reson ICs (just about 12€ the running meter) and a set of Eichmann Bullet Plugs.
Then you are gone.
Very musical, open and coherant.
For this money a no-brainer and far better than Kimber and co in the low and mid segment.

I was a high end cable nay sayer until a good friend and audio mentor convinced me to order a set of cables from a friend of his (Panther Cables from France) with the instruction that he would only accept payment after I ran them for 100+ hours and then only if I was totally convinced that there was an appreciable and positive difference. He had just tested and was impressed with the cables and we have 95% identical speaker systems.

I can't tell you if it's real or if I just got more in tune with the system during the 'break in' period. I don't think that it's purely imagination and it could have been an awakening to what was already there and the cables are needed to justify and support it. Regardless whether it's the cables or me there is an appreciable difference and if it requires props to keep the illusion alive then so be it because I'm certainly enjoying the results.

Let's keep this thread on track - cable recommendations for a specific McIntosh setup - or it will have to be moved.
