Hello there,
well, I just received my first Sansui QRX-5500 Quad Receiver a few days ago, WONDERFUL SOUND!!!
Absolutely Amazing!
Anyways, there are a few problems though, unfortunately. This unit was kept in the attic and is pretty dusty.
1) When I plug in the Front Right Speaker, everything works great.
When I plug in the Front Left speaker, no sound comes through, and if it does, it sounds like the speaker is blown.
This happens on both A and B sections as well as the rear channels.
No matter where I plug the right speaker, it works great.
But, vice versa on the other speaker.
I thought my left channel speaker was blown, but the same exact thing happened when i used another speaker. At least it's not blown
I thought that it could be the speaker cable, but same thing happened.
I REALLY need help with this.
I was thinking that I should do a deep cleaning and that would fix it, because that was the situation with my TEAC A-3340S which works great now.
2) The built-in antenna was working great when I received it. yesterday, I was checking out the back trying to fix the speaker situation, and the signal would cut out completely if my hand isn't touching or near the antenna, or if my head isn't above the antenna.
It is very strange, but that is the truth.
I lowered my head to the left speaker to hear it, and everytime I did that, even if my hand was on it, it would shut off.
It was very frustrating when I was trying to hear a tiny bit of sound.
PLEASE HELP!!!
All I want to do is play an record in quad while in peace and not in fear of my stuff not turning on the next time I play it.
THNX very much,:thmbsp:
