Granted, it's taken me all summer to finish this bass project that I mentioned in a much earlier thread, but here it is. I modeled it after a 1962 Fender Precision Bass and used a Seymour Duncan "Quarter Pounder" pickup with CTS 250k pots, a Switchcraft JAN silver-plated jack and a Solen 0.1uF cap. Color is Lake Placid Blue, pickguard is mother of pearl, body is basswood, and neck is Canadian maple with a rosewood fretboard. (My buddy Barry deserves most of the credit for it turning out so good.) Anyway, here's a pic or two of it!
And here's a close up of the headstock just after cutting it's shape, applying my logo and finishing with lacquer.

You'd probably string it into next year for sure Alan.
Very sweet Celt!

Thanks for the compliments guys! It took me awhile to get the neck *just right*. But setting height and intonation was a breeze. Strangely, the hardest part was "voicing" the tone circuit. My first choice was the .1uF Solen, but it had a snotty-Ampeg quality to it that I didn't like. I then tried a monolithic IC .1uF and a Sprague .047uF Orange Drop. And wouldn't you know it, the last and the cheapest thing I tried, had the magic I was looking for! A lowly .1uF Radio-Shack disc cap! (see pic). BTW, I rewired the Seymour Duncan pickups with the same wire I used throughout, which is Kimber-Kable PBJ.

smart guy, i love the way some of those disc caps sound, one of my strats is wired with a different tone value for each one on the 5-way

I am SEVERELY untalented.
