I just got a package returned to me by the USPS with big red labels advising me that the package contains markings that make it non-mailable.
Apparently , effectice Oct 5/04 any boxes that contain reference to a Hazardous Material( in my case...BEER) will be returned to sender.
It is suggested that the box, or reference to the "hazardous material" be covered so that it is not detected.
I guess the border folk feel that any criminal minds would not knowingly try to conceal hazardous material but would openly display contents of said material.
So any of you guys using liquor boxes to ship stuff have to find other boxes or wrap it well in brown paper.
As far as goods coming INTO Canada, I'm sure anything marked BEER or Alcohol will be accepted just fine :D
