Last week Alan (Opt80) enthusiastically recommended the debut disk from Ray LaMontagne titled Trouble. Course I had to rush right out and buy a copy, and boy am I glad I did. Described as a sedate version of Tim Buckley or an American version of Van Morrison, Ray LaMontagne is a gifted storyteller with the rare ability to bring the listener deep into the song. Stories of life and love delivered by a well-worn voice full of emotion, sincerity and honesty. This guy is very serious and very talented.
Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek) guests on a couple of tracks, playing fiddle and adding vocals.
Singer/songwriter, adult contemporary music fans should scarf up a copy as soon as you can - you will not be disappointed.
Another outstanding recomendation Alan!!
