I got lucky in the old vinyl department this week.

Bruce Springsteen-Tunnel of Love(Looks almost new)
REM-Document
Tom Petty-1st Album
Tom Petty-Youre Gonna Get It
Paul McCartney-Band On The Run(complete with poster)
Creedence-Green River
Creedence-Willy and the Poor Boys
Rolling Stones-Beggars Banquet
Rolling Stones-Let It Bleed
Sly and the Family Stone-Stand
Lorreta Lynn-Dont Come Home a'Drinkin
Merle Haggard-Branded Man

The Haggard album was the one that surprised me the most. Most of the country albums I see are destroyed,or are guys like Jim Reeves, people that dont interest me.This is one terriffic album.I can see where his reputation started. You can see where Nashville tried to pigeonhole him into the ex-con role, but there are some real surprises here, too, like "You Dont Have Very Far To Go".I think he got a bad rap in rock circles because of "Okie From Muskogee" and "Fighting Side of Me",but I read that right after his success with those songs,he recorded a Bob Wills tribute album, with the blessing of Wills himself, kickstarting the Western Swing revival inspiring people like George Strait and Asleep at the Wheel, and all the new traditional country of the 80's and the 90's like Randy Travis.
Not a bad bunch of records for 1.99 each or less :D
Jimmy

BTW,they had a few vintage Ferlin Husky records at the same store.Anyone know much about him?I remember hearing him when I was a kid,but I dont really remember what he sounded like.

Good old Ferlin had a few crossover hits in the early days of rock and roll like "gone" on Capitol but then concentrated on his country roots and recorded for about five different labels that I am aware of. Never a "big" name artish, he had a pretty loyal fanbase and I assume is still performing.
