My wife has recently informed me that I remind her of her old uncle Jim, who never changed out of his work clothes when he got home. She has a point, I wear a company uniform at work. I leave the shirt ( with company logo and my name on it) at work and wear the pants home. They are not dirty but I do tend to leave them on until bed time. In my younger days this was not the case. I wouldn`t be caught dead in public with blue 85 % polyester work pants . I guess I just don't care that much any more. Anyone else in the same boat?

I don't work so that's not a problem for me.

It doesn't stop the wife whinging about plenty of other stuff.............

I like simple things, and my clothing is no exception. I wear the same thing every day (bib overalls) unless someone has died, is getting married, or I'm getting my picture taken: all of which I avoid like the plague or rattlesnakes. I think overalls are the king of garments, and intend to be buried in a pair of them.

I certainly have wardrobe favorites...they get washed when they need to be, and not a moment sooner.

My home "uniform" hasn't changed in 40 years; jeans, T-shirt, and sneakers.
My wife finally stopped complaining about that, after about.....er.....20 years.

So just take them off and lounge around the house in your skivvies.. I bet she'll ask you to put them back on..

I used to get off work and not change either. I wore the same blue or tan pants you do.. hell.. work paid to have them cleaned, why dirty something else up I would have to wash?

jeans, T-shirt, and sneakers.

Steve

That is, IMHO, the perfect wardrobe, mainly because it matches mine to a tee.

:D

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'll bet it's never a good thing to be compared to your wife's uncle.

I wear the same thing you do, and the only time I don't change is if I have to do work around the house. I really prefer a comfortable pair of jeans and a t-shirt to my work outfit.

Except in the hottest areas that changes to shorts and sandals. Shirt optional. Sometimes unfortunately so.

Guy I worked with told me if it wasn't for women we'd all be at the beach fishing and waiting for coconuts to fall from the trees.

I go for the Jeans or shorts (depending on weather) T-Shirt and Tennis shoes pretty much everyday. I do have three piece suits and nice clothes that I do have to wear but at home it`s realx!!!

Ya know... Comfort is great, but keeping some mutual attraction in a relationship is pretty important too. I'd prefer my S.O. to put a modicum of effort into being attractive for me, and I'd certainly like to feel like I was attractive to her. If it's important enough to her to make some comments as she has I'd spend the 30 seconds extra to put on some pants that tell her you care about how she sees you and care about her feelings on the matter. I'm sure you can find something that looks decent and is still comfortable. Simple clean jeans or khakis I'm sure would do the trick.

And if you're really lucky, she'll do the same , just to show you what it's like.

This is why I posted I think. I'm getting lazy, and it's not like the work pants are really comfortable. I think I'm going to put some more effort into my appearence on a day to day basis. I have nice clothes and I wear them, it's just that through the week, if there's nothing going on, I tend not to change. I like wearing baggy clothes, always have, cargo pants with lots of pockets are my favorites. I'll go shopping. I'm 6' 2" and weigh 165 LBS. and have been for over 30 years. I think I'll make this small change. I might even start doing some cardio, I know I need it.

Thanks for your imput everyone.

It's a woman thing! I know some who change their "outfit" 5 times each day... There's the 'morning outfit', which has to be replaced with the 'going out to lunch' outfit, which is replaced with the 'doing chores in the afternoon' outfit, which gets removed for the 'watching TV' outfit, and finally 'bathrobe and bed' wear.

Then of course each one of thes has to be renewed entirely 4 times a year, to fit in with whatever season it is.

Jeans & loose T-shirt here in cooler weather, or surf shorts & no shirt in hot weather... I'm a clean freak, and I always have to wear clean clothes. My wife wears the same, except I haven't been able to get her to follow the no shirt policy in hot weather. Oh well, probably better since we live up on a hill, and somebody might have binoculars across the canyon...

If you read the book, " What Women Want Men to Know " by Barbara DeAngelis......there is a chapter in there on appearance. The more you try to look snazzy and GQ, the more you'll get laid.

Why Not? An 80 year old relative died a few months back and was buried in "Dickies" coveralls . . . never saw him wear anything else. However, his wardrobe did consist of several color variations . :thmbsp:

Jeans, t-shirt, and a pair of Chuck Taylor converse. Wore a pair of black Chucks when Mrs. Manning and I tied the knot. That fact that she laughed when she saw them on me as I walked down the aisle is one of the reasons I married her.

I change twice a day. I wake up in the morning, put on some khakis (various colors) and either a nice T-shirt (no logos, solid color) or a 3 button short sleeve polo. When I go to bed I take them off and sleep in my skivvies. Wake up the next morning and repeat. Unless I am ushering at church, then I put on a full button up. :thmbsp:

I guess it all depends where you work.

If you work at wastewater treatment facility (aka: shit plant) it might be a good idea to change those pants you wore at work that day, prior to coming home to your wife.

Being 6'3" and 210, all I need is a divorce, so I can wear all those nice Dockers and polo shirts I own ( and that she keeps buying).
