This's a biggum. I did an impromptu trip to one of our many farmer's markets today and wound up coming back with 212 complete albums, 23 more without covers and 62 78s. $20 for the whole lot of it all, plus I got 2 8-tracks. Here's an EXTREMELY random sampling of what I got:
LPs:
Elton John: Captain Fantastic
Li'l Wally "The Polka King" Sings Polish Christmas Carols
Doris Day's Greatest Hits
"Empire Of The Sun" Original Soundtrack
Maynard Ferguson: Live At Jimmy's
Billl Cosby: Revenge
Stray Cats: Built For Speed
And lots of Christmas music.
78s:
Louis Jordan & His Tympani Five: Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens/Let The Good Times Roll
Jimmy Lunceford: I Dream A Lot About You/Jeep Rhythm
Charlie Spivak & His Orchestra: The Old Devil Moon/If This Isn't Love
Frankie Yankovic & His Yanks: Just Because/A Night In June
Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra: Not So Quiet Please/I'll Take Tallulah
And plenty of Harry James. A lot of these are in what look like original sleeves.
I'll be blogging the full contents of this find over the next few days, and possibly dispensing with some of it. Stay tuned for updates.
