I have only 1 hdmi on my tv and my receiver does not support hdmi. I would like to run my video from my cable box & dvd player via hdmi and use my optical outputs for audio.
I really need to get rid of these component cables as they are taking up too much space.

Gefen makes some good ones, but they ain't cheap.
Oppo has their HM-31 3-way switch for $99. Just by Oppo's general reputation it's probably a good unit, but I have no direct experience with it.
HDMI is still sort of weird, though, IMO. What seems to work fine for one person may not necessarily work fine for someone else.
EDIT: Personally, for what ever reason, I think the picture from my cable box looks slightly better via component than from the DVI/HDMI connection.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this. I thought I was just imagining it.

Rosewill - HDMI Switch box 3-in-1 w/ Remote is good. The cost is around $40.

I used a monoprice 4x1 unit with remote before I got a receiver with enough switching. It was about $35 shipped. I did not notice any signal change when I switched from the monoprice to the receiver.

I have one of these, too. Works great and allows the codes to be plugged into my Harmony remote for macro capabilities. :thmbsp:
