View Full Version : My moniker is Tentoze and....
tentoze 11-14-2004, 11:08 AM I am a musicaholic. I have suffered with this disease for years, *ut it has increased in severity lately. I swore off *uying cd's 3 weeks ago, vowing to actually listen more and *uy less. I even went so far as to refuse to type the 2nd letter of the alpha*et, *ecause of its prominence in the name of my favorite music store. It didn't help. Not one *it. I left work yesterday, and drove straight to said place- *ought Ro*yn Hitchcock's latest release, and a used copy of Joseph Arthur's Redemption Song. I played them *oth LOUD. Junkie. The *iggest fear I have is that I will miss the *est record I have not yet heard. A voice in the wilderness, with an affliction worse than dope.
GOOD MORNING, AK!

Dave918 11-14-2004, 11:39 AM I just figured it up and year-to-date I have spent $2791.00 on new music and $4141.00 on new equipment. Thats $6,932.00 since January 1, 2004. What's really scary is I spent about the same in 2003. I gotta slow this run away train down before it derails completly :yikes:

After reading that, I've decided that I'm a lightweight. Time for a shower and another trip to Big B's.......

colortrakker 11-14-2004, 12:09 PM Hi Tentoze! I share your pain. I can't go into the place you mentioned without feeling like I need a few hundred dollars to get everything I "need". That's one of the reasons I switched to vinyl. Unfortunately since vinyl's so much cheaper than CDs I find myself buying more of it. I have this weird knack for finding cheap lots - just paid $5 for about 70 albums last week at a record fair (could've had it all for free but the stuff was just too good). The week before a guy sold me over 200 LPs and 60 78s for $20. And the record store near me is good for boxes of free stuff nobody else wants - I admit to freely partaking of their goods. I spotted a couple fresh boxes outside their store last night - I may check 'em out today. But just this one last time.
I very rarely buy CDs anymore, unless they're ABSOLUTE musts - that's why I bought three last week - the first I bought since summer. Believe me, I could've gotten plenty more, but as Gary Puckett sang, "Lady Willpower, it's now or never."
We can get through this. It won't be easy but we will get through this.
outlawmws 11-14-2004, 12:37 PM Hmmmm, I must be missing something, i thought this was the GOAL, :guitar: not the affliction... :scratch2:
And do I hear a HALLELUJAH? DO I HEAR IT? :yuck:
OK that was bad, even for me... :D
