You'll see what I mean in a bit. First, I will save this post for when I find a picture of the GE 12LP4A unwrapped.

This may look a bit like Gemini 5 or part of the Space Needle, but I aasure you that it's a tube!

Bottom view, one of a few.

which will be filled in shortly. The piece came from a new dryer door.

Done thusly.

I think you're about there. Looks like that puppy would survive King Kong, or even UPS goons. -Sandy G.

For the amazing price of...aw, hell it's stuff that was sent to me or I found it in a dumpster!

Now, before my ISP so rudely interrupted me when they decided to switch the server files over to a new email routine, this is what I did.

1. wrapped the neck in bubble wrap
2. contoured styrofoam to fit around the neck and taped it
3. covered the end and taped it up
4. wrapped the neck in poly wrap and taped it up
5. cleaned the screen (there is one speckle apparently in the lens which I cannot remove, but it won't affect the view)
6. covered it in poly wrap, then bubbles, more tape
7. 3 splints over poly-wrapped middle, mummy-wrapped top to bottom including the foam cap that was fashioned and angled to fit as the CRT would sit in the package
8. plastic cradle for lens end (from a new dryer) filled with foam slabs and bubble wrapped
9. mummy goes to it's sarcophagus (er, cradle, here)...

Finding the box! :sigh: :scratch2: :lmao:

Hope that was a good demonstration on "insane TLC"! I love packing.

I had this nice poly bag that fit more than tightly around the cradle. NOW it can go in a box! :thmbsp:

so YOU can have fun trying to open it.

Next time--the sendoff...

It's in a dish pack box now and being diverted another place but my friend tvman39 said I did an "insanely good" job, just as I claimed. I hope they like it!
