My wife saw that movie about Ray Charles this week, and afterwards she suggested that we get a Ray Charles CD or two. Which ones are reccomended? Is there anything that is particularly well recorded?

I strongly recommend the Rhino 4-disc set "Ray Charles: Genius & Soul - 50th Anniversary". It covers his Atlantic, ABC-Paramount, ABC and later WB recordings. Everything on it sounds very good with maybe the exception of the title song from the movie "In The Heat Of The Night" that is distorted and tinny. But all of his hits and then some are there.
