View Full Version : Hotmail redirect-Anybody ever had this happen? tentoze 11-21-2004, 11:03 AM Just tried to go to hotmail and got the following screen. Now, I'm normally pretty paranoid under the best of circumstances, but this seems pretty farking fishy to me.......... CarlV 11-21-2004, 11:22 AM I smell a big rat. I will not set up outlook as it is how the virus' are most often spread.I have had outlook open on it's own but it wouldn't do anything. I use Yahoo and I have gotten 4 virus emails in the past 2 days. Yahoo will not let you open them as they are executable attachments. That hasn't happened before. Carl Don C 11-21-2004, 02:24 PM I think that I remember reading somewhere that Hotmail was going to switch to Microsoft Passport for authentication. Probably means that its time to switch to Yahoo mail. tentoze 11-21-2004, 02:36 PM Whatever that phenomenon was, everything is back working like usual now. :dunno: heathkit tv 11-23-2004, 02:22 AM I suggest you download and scan for browser hijackers and various other bad thingies such as BHO's and mal/spyware HijackThis CWShredder (CoolWebSearch Trojan Remover) Ad-Aware SE Spybot Search & Destroy Spyware Blaster AVG Anti-Virus Zone Alarm firewall All of the above are not only free, but are far better than the majority of the programs that you have to pay for. After downloading them, make sure that you check for the latest updates BEFORE you run them for the first time. I can almost guarantee you that they'll find some bad stuff! Anthony |
