View Full Version : Mr. Resourceful gets a "new" stereo stand! Don 06-28-2002, 12:06 AM If you can guess this stands previous duty you win the booby prize! http://members.aol.com/seakingrice/stand ckelly 06-28-2002, 12:47 AM I'll take a shot.- A shop display? Wardsweb 06-28-2002, 12:55 AM So, you going to keep it green? :puke:  :D Don 06-28-2002, 01:08 AM Yeah, it was a green mountain coffee roasters display stand! Hence, the green color. I'll see how it fits in with the "decor" and decide if I need to paint it. I'll probably just leave it green. The shelves are 22" wide so it's perfect for my system! I don't think an sx1280 would fit or some of the other larger TOTL's. I really liked that clear acrylic stand I saw on ebay recently but $500-$800 is just a tad out of my price range. Walt 06-28-2002, 01:12 AM Won't it turn into a bit of a cabling mess at the rear? Or will you drill some small slots to feed the cables thru? Wardsweb 06-28-2002, 01:22 AM Great recycle there, but then vintage audio guys were the first recyclers. :) By the way, if anyone is interested in a CWD walnut cabinet, I've got one sitting in my garage. Here is a pic when it was full of gear. All the gear is gone, but I still have the cabinet. It was over $800 new in 96. I'd give a AK bud here a great deal. http://wardsweb.org/ebay/marklevinson/system_front3lg.jpg Don 06-28-2002, 01:23 AM I think a 2" hole saw will take right care of the cable issue. There shouldn't be any exposed cables when I'm done since the back is solid. Don 06-28-2002, 01:45 PM I moved the green giant to the livingroom but it's horrendously ugly! Too ugly! It's going to end up being a shelving unit in my "garage".:smsex: Hey ward are you really good at hiding wires, at photoshop or are those components not hooked up? No wires.:dunno: Wardsweb 06-28-2002, 02:33 PM your are correct, they were not hooked up, but even when done, the wires are concealed by the back baord. There are cutouts for the cables to pass through behind the unit. Kamakiri 06-28-2002, 02:55 PM If the inside is strong enough and large enough to fit my G-22000, you may have a sale :) Wardsweb 06-28-2002, 03:28 PM Gee I don't know. What are the dimensions of your G-22000 and it's weight. I can measure it when I get home and let you know. |
