Don't know of the others, but love Reverent Horton Heat. Check out a magazine called 'No Depression' - full of that type of stuff. Not just psychobilly, but alt.country whatever. Opens minds.

I have always thought of psychobilly as a extreme form of rockabilly. I like the Rev., but most of these groups are a bit to far out there for me.

Gator -- Reachin' back to the great and lost Mr. Feathers! Not to forget the very early Charlie Rich. And the original prototype for punkabilly thereafter and forevermore: Jerry Lee Lewis.

In the straighter rockabilly style (just didn't have the amps like the Rev Horton Heat), but really stretching it, we can't forget Paul Burlison or Link Wray & His Ray Men.

Ever hear of The Shakin' Pyramids from mid-70s England? Rockabilly buskers of the first order. Along the more modern vein, how about Robert Gordon? or Billy Hancock & The Tennessee Rockets? or Danny Gatton?

Then the original wild men: Billy Lee Riley (Flyin' Saucers Rock'n'Roll, Red Hot) Johhny Carroll, Buddy Covellle, or the Rockin' Saints ("Just cheat on me baby, until you can't cheat no more!")

You ain't got a pulse (or a mean bone in your body) if this stuff doesn't move you.

Yep, sounds like we're pretty much on the same page here...the band I used to play guitar in regularly played numbers by Feathers, Joe Clay, Jody Reynolds and the like - "Stutterin Cindy" was always a blast, you just can't beat the chorus...

I dont know if it qualifies as Psychobilly, but it is definitely some punk-blues: John Spencer Blues Explosion (now just Blues Explosion).

Sure agree on the Cramps. Could add The Paladins, The Tail Gators and early Leroi Brothers. Early Blasters. Even work in some X tunes.

Wouldn't Junior Brown squeak into this category somewhat too? Some of his tunes anyhow.
Second the motion on Wayne Hancock.
For just straight-up rockabilly, you got to check out Cave Catt Sammy. If they come to your town, see the show.
