But based on highlight clips I've seen, I think Pittsburgh is going to be the team to beat. And how much equipment could be purchased for an equivalent amount of coin? :) Retro Stereo 12-20-2004, 04:44 PM How much does it cost to go to the Superbowl? And how much equipment could be purchased for an equivalent amount of coin? :) Didn't cost me anything, but it did cost a few other guys some losses! :naughty: No, I'm talking AK Fantasy Football Superbowl here. Sorry for the confusion. Retro Andyman 12-26-2004, 07:21 PM [The Mighty Minnesota Fighting Moose Rule!!!   Retro Yes, they do! Congrats on your victory! And with 2 hands tied behind your back no less  Thanks to all who played this year and see you in July, 2005 for next years games :thmbsp: MikE 12-26-2004, 08:06 PM Thanks Andy for running the league. This was my 1st year as "Commish" and I know what a soap opera that can be! :yikes: AK was devoid of that I'm sure [or was it?] perhaps because we we're playing for anything but the guys at work have really been groaning about me finishing 2nd and 3rd in our league. And now that I won the league Championship it''ll be tough to collect everyone's $50! I know in Yahoo they rank the top four teams but what about the other guys? How are the 1st round losers ranked, by overall record, points? We had an eight man league. Check out the perpetual trophy I picked out for our inaugural season! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4342732263&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT MikE Andyman 12-26-2004, 08:45 PM MikE: I've always ranked the teams as playoffs rankings, 1-4 or 1-8 and then final standings for the non playoff teams. I'm not sure how the other games will fare, but I'm sure I lost to Retro, so he'd be #1, I'm #2 (no puns, please :D ), #9 Thor, #10, Grumpy, #11 Carl, and #12 Bear. The order doesn't really matter here as we start from scratch every year, but in my other 2 leagues we play keepers; 5 in mine, the entire roster in the others. In that case it makes a difference because it will set your draft order. If you're running a league at work, you might want to note the order. I cut and paste the standings and rosters into a Word file and that helps. FYI, the keeper is a real PITA to administer the draft in in Yahoo because you have to do it all yourself; Yahoo doesn't support keepers, at least not at the free level we play at. I won't bore you with the deatils here, but let's just say it invoves a lot of lists, email, and protected players. But once the draft is over it's like any other league. I really hate to see this end, but after losing 2 championships today, i'm pretty spent and ready for a rest. Take care and feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions! DingusBoy 12-28-2004, 03:43 PM I had alot of fun even though Andy kicked my butt in the playoffs. I'd never done a fantasy sports thing before and this was great. I look forward to next year! 3rd place - could have been worse, I could have been Thor! |
