View Full Version : Video Upscaler
I have heard mixed reviews about video upscalers. I was thinking of adding one to upscale my DVD performance to something approaching HD. My equipment consists of a NAD T533 DVD player and a Hitachi 32HDT50 Hi Def Plasma with DVI input.
I read reviews of the ADS 1500-II Upscaler, but the results were mixed. Anybody have any info or guidance to offer?

Thanks for the link, but these are upscaling DVD players. I was seeking a freestanding upscaler that allows me to connect more than one input device.

I had a discussion over at Audioreview on the HT board about component vs DVI cable that may address your question. It is my understanding from this thread that your HDtv has to upscale the signal anyway so an upscaler is not necassary. The exception to this as I understand it is the HDdvd upscalers or devices that have the HDCP(copy protection). Here you need the HDMI or DVI cable hooked to a HDTV with HDCP or you won't get the higher resolution.
