OK, here are some pics of my guitars. I'm strictly an acoustic type of guy so you headbangers out there will be dissapointed!
The first is a 1992 Taylor 510 mahogany dreadnought. I bought it new in early 1993 for a college graduation present to myself. I will never part with this guitar. It sounds warm and sweet, and I have yet to play an acoustic guitar with better action and playability than this one. I had a bone nut and saddle installed by a well-known luthier about 5 years ago. This was my first "real" (solid wood, American-made) guitar and I really feel like we've grown up together.
Next is a 2003 Martin HD-28, traditional rosewood and spruce dreadnought. I traded a Taylor 714ce for it, as I was playing in a bluegrass band at the time. It's always been a dream of mine to own a Martin, and this one came along at the right time. This one sure is pretty - it looks like an acoustic guitar is supposed to look!
Finally, a Larrivee D-03-12 mahogany dreadnought 12-string. This is truly a player - a guitar so ugly only its mother could love it. Satin finish all over, with mahogany back and sides stained a sick pumpkin color. No matter, it plays and sounds very good. The price I paid for this all solid-wood Canadian made guitar was less than most Indonesian imports. The magnetic pickup in the soundhole is a Fishman Rare Earth. Not great, but does the job.
