Kid I have working with me a has a DLP projector BEN-Q (http://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-PB2140.htm)

I have been looking at home theatre options but room layout tough and this would open up many more installation options but I have used these at work with my laptop for meetings!

In my humble opinion, DLP is fantastic if you get one with a fast color wheel. Also, one's with true HD resolution are incredibly expensive.

I went with an LCD projector this time around. Sanyo PLV-Z2 for under two large with a 92" 16:9 screen. 1280 X 720 res.

My .02, Texas instruments is milking the technology for cash right now, which is fine. But wait until 3 chip DLP units come out. These will eliminate the colour wheel and will be incredible!

I second that! DLP is great, but the color wheel has got to go! When the 3 chip DLPs finally hit the consumer shelves (I believe they have been in professional use for quite some time, but are veeeerrrrry expensive at the moment) they will IMO blow everything else out of the water.

I am probably going to go with an LCD PJ this year and I'll wait out the DLP thing till second or third generation 3 chip consumer versions.

The sweet spot is still CRT for now. . . I am buying a new Mits 55 or 60. . . I can get a Diamond right. . . and it is still one fine TV. . .

I like DLP but yeah, that color wheel has to improve. My eyes are too fast for DLP. If I turn my head or move my eyes at the right speed, I catch a glimpse of the red, blue and green stripes the picture is made of. But the picture's great if you can look past that flaw. No burn-in, either.
