View Full Version : 'nother find!
Rockmonton 01-16-2005, 02:14 AM well i'm picking this up tomorrow for 500$ canadian, its really not a bad deal..... the head is a 130 watt tube guitar head with reverb and tremolo but it will not distort no matter what........ which is crazy...... and the cab is a 2-10 and 1-18" cab where there is no information, a bit of a gamble, but the head is really really nice....... we'll see how it sounds tomorrow.
GibsonLesPaul 01-16-2005, 08:16 AM Sweet-looks like it'll rumble some plaster off the walls! :thmbsp:

radioactive 01-16-2005, 12:42 PM what model is the head?
Rockmonton 01-16-2005, 02:29 PM its a ygl-3a mark 3
i had the traynor page on it somewhere... i'm off to go get it right now! theres also not a single piece of lit on the cab anywhere.... anways i've got the yba-3 bass model and the guitar model now when i pick it up! hooray!
Rockmonton 01-16-2005, 03:54 PM scuse my french but FUCK YEAH! this is an AWESOME rig...... the cabinet is CRAZY loud.... louder thna my 2-15 and as loud as my 4-12 w/horns cranked up.... its bloody AWESOME
bolly 01-16-2005, 04:44 PM :guitar:
Rockmonton 01-16-2005, 04:46 PM and what luck.... no using it yet because all my patch cords are out on bloody loan....... i'm gonna go make me one RFN!
radioactive 01-16-2005, 05:03 PM way to go . :thmbsp: i found the lit on the amp so dont worry about it.as for the cab what model is it?
my brother has a ycv-212 with 2 12' cerwin vegas in it that he uses with his yba 3 cstom special and sounds great.my other brother has the earlier yba 3 without the master gain control and uses his with a 4 plex.enjoy the traynor as they are a truly great amp and can give some of the bigger name manufacturers a run for their money.heres a shot of the cab and one of the yba 3 custom special.
radioactive 01-16-2005, 05:04 PM and the head....
Rockmonton 01-16-2005, 06:04 PM nice, i've got a yba 3 also..... this head is strange..... it doesent seem very loud..... but it might just be the cab....... the cab is a yc-188 which has 2 6.5" and at least one 18" i havent popped it open yet, but it is bloody heavy..... i think i'll try my yba3/SVT into the cab and this one into my ACOUSTIC 4-12 and see how it goes the reverb is a bit screwy, i think a springs loose.... and the tremolo doesent kick in till 7, bu its the nicest on each i've ever heard..... i've gotta pop off the top and take a look though.... it also picks up hum really bad, but as long as i'm turned away its a rocking amp
Rockmonton 01-17-2005, 07:25 PM just did the quick fix and switched out the verb tank with an old fire damaged accutronics, and its truly the BEST reverb i've ever heard...... havent had a chance to crank the OD pedal into it yet for lack of cords, but its really sweet
Reel 2 Reel 01-17-2005, 07:26 PM Nice find....it shure beats what I have to use......just this little GFX-30...and no FX pedals ...YET.....
I can still make it sound like I'm playin a Gibson L-5......lol :guitar:
bullseye 01-17-2005, 07:46 PM well this is what I got not much just a crate bv120 blue vodoo 120 watt 2 chanel with seperate adjustments for the plate reverb
its got four el6l6 tubes with 12ax7's for the pre amp
Rockmonton 01-17-2005, 07:54 PM lol there aint no el6l6's ahha theres el34's and 6l6's but no hybriod.. needless to say those voodoo's are sweet amps too! this thing just wont distort.. it'll get a bit flabby on the bass, but thats the speaker breaking up a bit with everything at 10 and actives... my friggin buddy lost the plans i had for a 2-15" combo amp so i've got to redraw them again! grr.....
bullseye 01-17-2005, 07:59 PM Mmmmmmmm...the warm glow!!!...
bullseye 01-17-2005, 08:04 PM Sorry ...just a typo..from typing fast....just GT6L6 :dunno:
Rockmonton 01-17-2005, 08:07 PM haha okay kidna confusing that way... but man those tubes look like they're running hot!
Reel 2 Reel 01-17-2005, 08:17 PM Thats the way to run em BABY!!!!!......Hahahahaha!!!!.thats the way to run em!!!!!!! :thmbsp:
Rockmonton 01-17-2005, 08:40 PM i mean thats really bright, but 120 watts out of them is a lot i'm sure these ones also run bright, actually i'm gonna go play in the dark now.... they've got their own little cooling fan they run so bright!
Rockmonton 01-18-2005, 09:36 PM hmmph the reverb now starting up is like an OD, i'm guessing a rusty connection with the tank, anyone else got an idea, it resolves itself after a bit sometimes, but i guess i'll clean the connections later and try it agani
