Its hard to say if its worth fixing, because it isnt known whats causing the problem. You can keep an eye on this auction and see how the bidding goes:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50592&item=5748459753&rd=1
No point to repair the one you have if it would cost significantly more than buying the same model on Ebay that already works properly.

hey, thanks B/F.
i was kinda thinking the same thing, but i got this one for free so i figured i would check to see what people thought of them. btw, i moved to nyc not too long ago and have some other things i've been thinking about having worked on. could you point me in the right direction as far as reputable shops i the area? it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have had one for about 7 years now and it seems to be pretty good. I would not classify it in the same group as the G series by any means. Has a lot of modern features and more power than most of the other units from it's time.
Also, that's my auction listed above but it's not the one I use. I listed this one for someone I know.

AM stereo? is that a misprint on e-bay? I know they tried am stereo or was gonna. Maybe two stations out in LA had it. Does anyone know if that is a misprint?

If it is a misprint it's theirs - it has AM stereo written in bright red lettering on the left side of the face.

Hi,
They are fairly easy to fix if you have the service Manual and some knowledge in electronics. I have fixed mine a couple of times already. That being said, I am currently looking for the Display Indicator for the SX-1130 as mine slowly faded out due to old age and I would love replacing it. Should you decide not to repair it, I would be a candidate to buy the Indicator or the board onto which it is installed. Thanks.
