We in KC know Marty pretty well. He did a good job here, and he's doing a great job in SD. For some reason he always ends up the scapegoat, but his W/L record speaks for itself.

I certainly would have loved to see SD in the Super Bowl if KC couldn't make it, but it ain't all Marty's fault, as much as everyone wants to finger-point.

My opinion is that Marty got them to the playoffs. IIRC, most folks figured they'd do about as well as the Niners did.

I think the guy deserves a ton of credit :yes:

BTW; I believe it's "Schottenheimer"; it's certainly not "Shotenheighmer" :no:

I'm a huge Charger fan but how can you blame Marty? They won 4 games last year and 12 this year. I thought they were a better team than the Jets and that they'd be tough out, but they played poorly and lost. Instead of faulting Marty I credit the Jets game plan. MikE

I don't think it's purely Marty's fault, but I was little upset that they played to kick the field goal, and put the monkey on the Rook's back. We're pretty decent in the red-zone this year. With receivers like Floyd 6'6", Antonio Gates 6'4", Kassim Osgood 6'5", all of them can get open and catch the ball well. I just don't think he should've played it so conservatively,and you can't argue that's been a hit against Marty for years. I will give the Jets "D" props. And props to Marty for turnin' this thing around, next time "Take no prisoners".

I don't follow sports much anymore, but I do know that if Hadl gets the ball to Alworth, the Chargers go the distance. Speedy Duncan returning the punts and kick-offs is icing on the cake.
