Not trying to cause a rukus, but I've never seen a Pfanstiehl replacement stylus with a "Genuine Shure" label on it. Anyone know if this true?

I know from personal experience that Pfanstiehl did occasionally market genuine Shure V15III styli. The end-bid will be through the roof. As they say, "Bid often, and bid high."

Well, of seller's two completed listings, the first one closed without bids. The second sold at $78.60. Is that a lot for this stylus?

Even as high as $125 would be a BARGAIN for THIS item (perhaps even more). The Type III is wonderful., and hard to beat at any [reasonable] price. Remember, it is no longer being made by Shure. If I had some extra money floating around, you would see my name in the bidders' list.

Pfanstiehl had many other Shure and other original replacements sold by them in the 60s and 70s.

Does anyone know if the new v15 stylus would fit type IV body?

Upon close examination, the stylus grip is black. The needle is plain, not peanut. (not micro-ridge, with the red grip).

When I bought a new stylus for my Type IV, I spoke to the no-longer-in-business (too bad, was a good dude) Lyle's Cartridges, and he told me the only difference between the Type IV and the VxMR was the stylus. If I wanted a VxMR, to simply buy that stylus (which I did). If I wanted to stay with the Type IV, simply buy the Type IV stylus.
