Maybe a test pressing of the first L Mayorga? Any ideas? RichM?
Er, no I'm not bidding - just curious.

That is truly the first Sheffield LABS Direct-to-Disc album
I was working for a hifi shop in 1971 when it came out,
and it sold for all of eight dollars! By 1975 it was
quoted as being worth $1000... I was a student and
couldn't afford to buy one, but have regretted it since.
Very good orchestral music, BTW.

Was searching through some old threads and found this.
Mike, I just took delivery on LAB 22 this week. This was the LP you mentioned I was missing.
So... I am complete now !

Aren't/Weren't most of those albums release on CD in the mid 80's?
I had James Newton Howard and Friends and Dave Grusin Discovered Again.
If I'm not mistaken both were mastered from 30ips .5 track reference masters recorded at the time of the direct to disc cut. It's probably safe to assume that they were mastered for CD by Sax.
They remain among some of the best CD's I've ever heard.
Has anyone here heard them?
