Shanling SP-80 Amps are SAWEET !

Well the God's have decided to shine sweetly upon me finally. I received my replacement Shanling today. FedEx damaged one in the first shipment. I filled them with a matched quad of Electro-Harmonix 6CA7EH in place of the Shanling EL34's. I then hooked them to my Martin Logan CLS electrostats and....

Badda Boom - Badda Bing, Oh how they sing.

Even fresh out of the box, these amps drive my CLS's better than anything I've ever used with them. The imaging is unreal...correction...the imaging is REAL. They have better bass than I've ever heard from them. To think, it's only going to get better.

Now back to Modern Cool.

You and me both. I listen to this rig almost everyday. It's like rediscovering my CLS's. Even songs I like have new found favor. I was blown away by the imaging from Lindsey Buckingham doing Big Love off Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance". It's truely 3D.

Still need to build the passive pre so I can add the Rega to this system. Oh I can just imagine what this will be with sweet vinyl in the mix.
