Flash Power Supply?

Heres a few shots of a Witronor II power supply I assume is for a flash for an antique camera?

The switch states Batterie for the top and Netz + Laden for the bottem. The cap is 600uf @ 500 VDC :D Not sure how old it is ect. any ideas guys?
