March Madness

I would be willing to set up a March Madness bracket and pool, assuming there is enough interest. My thought is to set up a bracket on yahoo sports or espn and it would be restricted to AK members. 5 bucks a bracket, with 20% going to AK. Moderators, is this permissible? Would whoever handles the "donations" acct (I'm assuming its Grumpy) collect and keep track of funds?

To me, March Madness means "Nascar is here, and baseball just around the corner." Of course, when your local team (Penn State) is 1-something (I don't know, they've won only one conference game this year) it can be hard to get excited.

But, I went to Illinois and couldn't help but notice them this year, so maybe I'll tune in ...

Styler, this may not be a good idea. It can get you into trouble with the law. Even something as inocent as a friendly office pool is ilegal.

thats why i asked, wasnt sure if it was kosher... seems like i've heard there are exceptions for these, its not actually gambling, its a contest to see who can pick the most winners. we have any attorneys on AK?
