For Sale: Pioneer SX-980
This one has just been gone through by Echowars. Looks sweet and sounds better. This bad boy is pumping 108 watts on Glenn's Bench !
Face plate and case in very nice shape. There is a small ding on the rear of the case that is not very noticeable.
All proceeds from the sale of this Great receiver go directly to Audiokarma. Price 225.00 plus shipping

Top view.... The woodgrain on this case is awesome looking.
Sorry for the dark pics...only had this camera for two days and still learning, plus it's pretty dreary outside :D

No doubt!! One of the nicest looking pieces that I've opened up in a while.
I don't mean to seem to be pushing your wares, but everybody that comes over is drawn to this thing like a moth to a lamp. "Wow! This is pretty! What is it?" To which I reply, "Read the damn faceplate, fool". ;)

It has a standard old-skool EI core transformer.

And it completely blows away the Marantz SR-880 surround-sound receiver I was using in my living room. Picked up the SX-980 this morning from the local FedEx office (I was at the airport picking up my wife when the driver came by yesterday) and plugged it into my main system.
No matter what I throw at it the SX-980 makes my newly acquired DCM TF-700 speakers sing. John Hiatt, Joe Ely, Gustav Holst, Dan Hicks...
I think I'm gong to be happy with this combination for a long time.

Don't have any photos yet, but the speakers are 44 inches tall, 17.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. I'll post photos in the Speakers forum when I get a chance to snap a few. Have a party to get ready for this afternoon.

So, how was the party? :-))

The party got rained out. Had several lines of severe storms roll through the area all day Saturday. They were supposed to clear out by 2 p.m., but a tornado touched down a little after 4 p.m. less than five miles from our house. The party was south of Austin, and the same storm dumped 1.5 inch hail and almost two inches of rain. :worried: Really didn't want to take the puppies out in that.
