As a beginner's foray into AV receivers and home theater, I didn't want to cough up a potfull of money before I had an idea of what was going on. I bought a cheap 5.1 receiver at auction for about $60 and waited for the box to arrive. The receiver works fine and has adequate power for what I want to do, but I am completely at the mercy of its remote. Does anyone here have any idea about the Marantz remote for this thing? I'd also like to find a user's manual for the receiver. Once I've got this figured I might and might not buy a better one.
I like the remote control, but I also have a rack full of Altec 1593B mono block amps that, with a bit of finagling, could really kick some serious butt for me. I've got a couple of bass-reflex Klipsch Tangent 100s out front an two homebrew 3-way cabs (10" - 5" - 2" with treble atten and peak breaker on the crossovers) that I figure would make good surrounds, and a couple of hefty 6" full- ranges for a center I can build in a buddy's shop. Before I start serious tinkering, though, I'd like to get the docs on the Marantz. Anybody got a source or, dare I dream of it, :lmao: manuals?
